Framing three-dimensional objects may be a source of great satisfaction, but requires some experience as well as some equipment... Here are a few tips to help you make it simple.

Vitrine

Framing three-dimensional objects may be a way to present and enhance everything from medals, plates, coin collections, to dolls or autographed football. A Shadow box is problably the best way to display and protect these objects.

The method and materials used in framing objects can have a significant effect on their Preservation. Poor quality materials containing harmful substances should be avoided: these substances could lead to the formation of acids that damage coins and textiles. For optimal preservation, the board should be free of acid and Lignin.

When choosing the box or frame, take into consideration the depth of the Rabbet, which is the inside edge of the frame Moulding. Choose one deep enough to accommodate your object, your mat board and Glass.
