A Marie-Louise is a fabric-covered Moulding which is fixed to the outside moulding. It is generally used when framing a Canvas. 

A passe partout (or "framing mat") is Border, usually made from mat board, placed around a print, photograph, etc., to serve as a spacer or separation between the picture and the frame.
